Asim Munir Warns Afghanistan: Pakistan Declares Zero Tolerance for Cross-Border Terrorism
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, has issued a stern warning to the Taliban government in Afghanistan, declaring zero tolerance for cross-border militancy. During a visit to Peshawar, Munir met tribal elders and appreciated their unconditional support during Pakistan’s recent standoff with Afghanistan. He said Pakistan has long pursued peaceful diplomacy, yet Kabul continues to shelter TTP and BLA militants allegedly supported by India. “Pakistan seeks peace with all neighbours, including Afghanistan, but will not allow its soil to be used for terrorism,” Munir said, according to ISPR. The army chief assured that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be completely cleansed of terrorists. Tribal elders reaffirmed their commitment to peace, declaring that extremist ideologies have no place in Pakistan’s tribal areas. The remarks come amid ongoing peace talks in Istanbul, mediated by Türkiye and Qatar, following deadly border clashes earlier this month.
